Upload one clear photo of yourself to raindance-ai.org, pick the golden-hour pier scene, and generate. A free 5-second teaser comes back in about two to five minutes; the full 8-second HD clip is $3.99 to unlock, or $4.99 generated outright. The clip is silent on purpose, so you add the official Raindance sound inside TikTok, switch on the AI-generated content label, and post.
What do I need before I start?
Three things, and none of them is a camera crew.
- One photo of yourself. One adult, face clearly visible and front-facing, decent light, framed chest-up or waist-up. Skip sunglasses, heavy filters, group shots and sharp side angles — the model copies what it can see, so a soft or crowded photo gives you a face that doesn't look like you. Aim for at least ~768px on the short side; JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB. There is more detail in choosing the right photo.
- A Google account, which is how you sign in.
- The TikTok or Reels app, because the sound gets added there rather than in the generator.
Only use photos of yourself, or of someone who has agreed to it. No photos of minors, and no celebrities — including Dave and Tems. This is a fan-made tool and has no connection to them, their labels, TikTok or CapCut.
How do I make the Raindance AI video with my photo?
- Open the generator. Go to raindance-ai.org and sign in with Google. Nothing is charged at this stage.
- Pick your mode. Solo takes one photo. Duet takes two photos with one person each and places you side by side on the pier. Pets does the same thing for a cat or a dog.
- Upload. Drop the photo in and check the preview crop. If the face looks small or cut off, swap the photo now rather than after you've paid.
- Choose the scene. Golden-hour pier is the default and the closest to the look everyone recognises — low sun behind you, calm sea, warm flare. Rain on the pier is the blue-hour version with wet planks. Sunset beach and Reception lights (an evening reception under string lights) are the other two.
- Set format and length. The default is 9:16, 8 seconds, 720p, which is what TikTok and Reels want. You can switch to 16:9 or 1:1, and the higher models (Seedance 2.0 Mini, Fast, 2.0 and 2.5) go up to 15 seconds and 1080p.
- Generate the free teaser. Every account gets one free 5-second 480p teaser. It carries a watermark and plays in the browser so you can judge the face match before spending anything.
- Unlock it, or generate the full clip. Turning that teaser into the full HD version is $3.99. A fresh full video is $4.99, and packs bring that down — 5 for $14.99, 15 for $34.99, 40 for $79.99. Credits never expire, a failed render refunds itself automatically, and paid videos have no watermark. Pricing has the monthly plans too.
- Download the MP4. You now have a silent, vertical clip that opens on a recreation of your photo, hard-cuts to you on the pier singing softly into the lens, and pushes in slowly.
How long does the Raindance AI video take?
Rendering usually takes two to five minutes, and longer or higher-resolution settings sit at the slower end of that. Start to finish — sign in, upload, teaser, unlock, download, add the sound, post — most people are done inside fifteen minutes. If a render fails, the credits go back to your balance on their own; you don't have to ask.
How do I add the Raindance sound in TikTok?
The clip has no music and no AI vocals, which is deliberate: it keeps you on the real, licensed track instead of a synthetic imitation.
- Open TikTok, tap +, and upload the MP4 from your camera roll.
- Tap Add sound (or Change sound if you are already in the editor) and search for Raindance by Dave featuring Tems. Use the version in TikTok's own in-app library — that is the one cleared for use on the platform.
- Drag the sound so the bridge where Tems repeats "I love you" lands on the cut into the pier. That beat is what the trend is built around.
- Run the music copyright check before you post. If a track is removed later, TikTok mutes the video rather than deleting it, and the sound removal and appeal pages explain what to do. Pulling the sound from an external download is the usual reason a video turns up silent.
Adding the Raindance sound in TikTok walks through the same thing for Reels and CapCut.
Do I have to label it as AI?
Yes. TikTok requires realistic AI-generated content to be labelled, and there is an AI-generated content toggle under More options on the posting screen. Switch it on. It takes a second, it keeps your video eligible, and in practice the comments are kinder when people aren't trying to work out whether it's real.
How to do the Raindance AI trend step by step with other tools
For completeness, there are three other routes, and they answer different questions.
- A CapCut template. Free, fast, and it edits your own footage or photos to the beat — it does not generate an AI performance of you on a pier. The two biggest ones are called "i love you" and "Raindance" on CapCut's Rain Dance page. See the CapCut template guide.
- A general image-to-video model. PixVerse, Dreamina, Pippit, Hailuo, Kling and Viggle will all animate a portrait if you write the prompt yourself: wooden pier, low sun, sea behind, singing into the lens, slow push-in. More control, more trial and error, and you pay per attempt. Our prompt guide has a starting point, and the app comparison covers the rest.
- Another Raindance-specific generator. Kavel, Summrs, Nsketch and raindanceai.org all do a version of this; raindanceai.org was $6.99 per video at the time of writing (October 2026). Prices and free-credit offers move around, so check before you commit.
Why doesn't the mouth match the words?
Because the model never hears the song. It produces a soft singing performance, not exact lip-sync, and that is true of every tool in this category right now — the audio is added afterwards, so nothing can be matched to it. Landing the cut on the "I love you" bridge does most of the work; a tighter crop on the face hides the rest.
Two other things go wrong often. A face that doesn't look like you almost always traces back to the input photo — low resolution, sunglasses, a heavy filter, a group shot or a side angle. And a clip that plays silently on TikTok means the sound never attached, so go back and add it from the in-app library. If money is the blocker, the free options are worth reading before you pay for anything.
